Heart And Mouth Accords

 Ps    19:14;

(19) "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Jehovah, my strength and my redeemer."

        Acceptance depends completely upon conformance. Conformity is an agreement brought about through compromise and concession. An agreement, to remain valid, requires constant obedience to the vows made as a result of the settlement. To be acceptable in the sight of God, the words of the mouth and the meditation of the heart must be identical in essence.

        Both the heart and the mouth must mutually agree to relinquish their assumed positions of autonomous authority.

 Jer  17:9-10;

(9)   "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

(10) I, Jehovah, search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings."

       Yes, God does know your heart. In His sight it is deceitful above even the tongue; is at all times desperately wicked; and cannot be known even by the one within whose breast it beats.

Ja   3:5-8;

(5)   "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold how    great a matter a little fire kindleth.

(6)   And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members,        that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is          set on fire of hell.

(7)   For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is        tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

(8)   But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."

       There isn't a beast on this earth that man has not tamed. Not trained, tamed; for there are many beasts that cannot be trained to perform on command. Tamed here simply means subdued.

       Surely, no man can tame the tongue of the old man. God, on the other hand does not seek to merely tame it. In His infinite wisdom He simply replaces it along with everything else. And even the heart, in its desperation, can be tamed for a time by well placed words of the mouth until it too is replaced.

The heart and mouth must be on one accord for one to be saved.

Ro 10:9-10, 13;

(9)   "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in   thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

(10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

(13) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

The heart and mouth must be on one accord to be acceptable.

Ps    49:3;

(3)   "My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of        understanding."

The new heart and mouth must also be trained to get and remain on one accord.

 Pr    16:23;

(23) "The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips."

 Ps    19:14;

(19) "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Jehovah, my strength and my redeemer."

       The most important agreement your heart and mouth can ever seek is to call on the name of Jesus, confess your sin to God the Father and then continually confirm your complaisance to the children of God.
