Concerning What a Christian Is We must be careful to not get ourselves into discourses that take us away from the reality of the word. Christianity as a concept is like English Lit. 101. Everybody has an opinion and nobody is really wrong or right because the author is dead and no one can say for sure what he or she reee-aa-llly meant. Living Christianity— what we do every day— is totally different. I am automatically an American because I was born here. One not born here— an alien— must be allowed to adopt America through its laws, etc., and then adopt America as one's own country. That person is no longer an alien. That New Born American is just as much an American as I am. Jesus was and still is God's Only Begotten Son. We were all aliens in the beginning. God the Father decided to adopt us. Both God The Father, and Jesus His Only Begotten Son, agreed that His shed blood would be my passport, entry visa, green card and citizenship papers. By law, (Their Covenant), all I need to do is accept what they did. I must accept God as my Father and Jesus as My BIG Brother, and I am just as much a son of God as Jesus is. An American is a born or naturalized citizen. A Christian is a Born Again or An Adopted child of God. Not just a follower. We follow folk on the freeway, in lines, through tunnels and up and down hallways everyday. They are not going to the same places we are going. It's far more personal than that. We are with them but we are not with them. Herein lies the difference: Once the Father decides to adopt one of us, nobody— but nobody can change the reality of that adoption. Born into my earthly family I'm already a member. I'm the latest and for now the dumbest but I'm still a member. As I grow, I learn from my father, mother, sisters, brothers and other assorted kinfolk. I'm not trying to learn how to become a member of this family I already am a member. I need to know how to Act As a member of this family. Christianity is no different. Make it different and you lose the reason why we are all called brothers and sisters and children of God, The Father. What is a Christian? A fragile human; an alien child; a creature condemned, waiting to be adopted by God. With God: adopted into the Personal Family of the Creator of all things. Born again: Spiritually an embryo, fertilized by The Holy Ghost and birthed into the heart of a child of grief and simultaneously into the Bosom of God The Father, washed in the Blood of Jesus the Lamb and continually fed with the sincere milk of the Word of God. What is a Christian? Any one who is Born of God becomes a Christian at birth. If you don't adopt God you are not His child. If you do adopt God no one can prove you are not His child. Author: Rev.
