What Color Is Jesus?
A better question is: “Is God really color-blind?” If not, then what color is Life? Really, what color can be declared to be the one pivotal color in the development and enrichment of life itself? There is one answer and that answer is simple. God is not color-blind. If One is color-blind and cannot discern certain colors how then can He be a Creator of colors? Jesus is Life; He created all the colors that make up life. He came to give life, one specific color cannot be ascribed to Him or to those He came to save. There is no one color that can take credit for life or its enhancement. John 1:3, 4, 9; 10:10-11; (3) "All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (4) In Him was life; and the life was the light of men." (9) "That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." (10) "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (11) "I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep."
Jesus created all life and their colors. Jesus came to give life, yea, abundant life to all those who believe in His name. He gives life to all who come into the world. Jesus gave His life for all those who wish to be His people and the sheep of His pasture. Jesus is Life. Jesus is the Color of Life. The hues and tones of life are myriad. The graces and mercies of The Lord Jesus are immeasurable. As no one color can claim exclusive rights to life, no one color, hue or tone can claim exclusive rights to Jesus.
JESUS IS LIFE. JESUS GIVES LIFE TO ALL COLORS.
Further, The Lord has declared that no flesh shall glory in His presence: I Co 1:28-29; (28) "And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: (29) That no flesh should glory in His presence."
Nor be justified in His sight: Ro 3:20; (20) "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." God has already declared this. We must ignore doctrines that preach an earthly alliance based on earthly values. Which flesh tone is closer to godliness? Which shade in which race is the holiest?
Col 1:19-22; (19) "For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell; (20) And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. (21) And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled (22) In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight: (23) "If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven."
cf. Eph 1:5-14; 2:11-22; (2:14-16, 18); (14) "For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; (15) Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (16) And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby. (18) For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father." Color, race and national origin are all based on glorying in the flesh. Even so, God has negated superiority in the flesh by making the basis of our life in the flesh all too equal. God has said that the life is in the blood. He then made all nations of one blood. Human blood is the same color worldwide. If a color had to represent the epitome of life, then all life would have to be red; the color of man’s blood because a man's life is in his blood.
Ac 17:26; (26) "And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation."
Jesus was in the beginning; He is now and shall be as He always was: The Word of God. Coming as the child of a virgin Jewess did not change that. Being born in northern Africa didn't change that either. But, even if one were to successfully argue that these instances make a difference it ends at the grave. God has said that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. cf. I Co 15:50a. Further, He has also declared that man must be transformed into the image of the Son of God. cf. Ro 8:29 This cannot be done without removing every semblance of the impetus of the flesh. We must do that mentally, emotionally and psychologically while God does it Spiritually. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Co 5:17 Is the color of our several skins included in the things that must pass away with the life of the old man? Without a doubt it too must pass. We are all prisoners of and slaves to our own skin tones and hair colors. If our skin color puts us in a certain group, the variety of shades will separate us into categories within those groups. If we are all the same shade, then the differences in the colors of our hair and eyes will fragment us into classes. If all colors and shades are the same, we will fight over body types and facial features. It will never end. Man has proven that something; anything; just about everything can and will be used to prove ourselves superior or inferior to one another. If, however, anyone be in Christ they are new creatures and the old things no longer apply. Even their attitudes toward those old things must become new. If you are proud of what you are and who you are; fine, but don't bring your desire to be superior into the gospel. The gospel must be preached to all creatures. Not just to those of your chosen color, tone, hue or shade or height or weight or age or IQ, or-- whatever. What happens when the people you hate are the same color you are? What reason will you give for wanting to send them to hell by refusing to preach the gospel to them? What shall we say then? The answer is clear, it cannot matter to us what color Jesus might have been, nor is it important to our salvation which color, shade, hue or tone was dominate in the tribe of Judah at the time of His birth. What is supremely important is what we do when confronted by the invitation to be saved. Whatever our origin in the flesh, we must deny it and accept Jesus Christ as our Only Savior and Lord. Accept all that He is that He may become all that He can become to us whatever our color, race or national origin. "For he who would be Christ's disciple must deny himself daily and voluntarily undertake God's burdens and goals for his life."
cf. M't 16:24; M'r 8:34; Lu 9:23; (24) "Then Jesus said to His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." Is the superiority of the color of your skin stopping you from denying yourself and following Jesus? What will you tell Jesus when He points out that there are no exceptions?
Jesus Is Life. Jesus Is The Color Of All Life.
What must you do to be saved? Pray this prayer, believing that Jesus hears you: "Lord Jesus, I need you, Please forgive me. Please come into my life and make me the type of person you want me to be. I now receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me and for bringing me new life in You. In the Name of Jesus and to the glory of God our Father, I pray. Amen. |
